Today we met with the Healthcare Management Team to present the bbMiradas project for the early diagnosis of autism and to establish collaborative links between healthcare professionals and the association.

When ASD is suspected, it is essential to carry out a thorough diagnostic assessment to rule out or confirm the diagnosis. The programme bbMiradas, launched in 2018 by the foundation Miradas y la Asociation Autism Burgos, aims to identify warning signs of ASD in babies at high genetic risk of developing the condition (primarily siblings of people with ASD) or in children showing signs of developmental concerns.

This monitoring is carried out through comprehensive assessments (neuropsychological evaluations, standardised tests, questionnaires and interviews) and by analysing the babies’ eye movements using eye-tracking technology. If the diagnosis is confirmed, the child is referred for specialised, targeted intervention designed to support both their development and quality of life, as well as the emotional well-being of their families.
