- Carrefour and its Foundation have teamed up with Juguetes Famosa to create a new and exclusive collection of charity soft toys
- The proceeds will go towards the nationwide roll-out of the “bbMiradas” project, promoted by Autismo España and developed by Autismo Burgos and Fundación Miradas.
The Carrefour Solidarity Foundation and Famosa unveiled the new ‘TEAtrapo’ charity soft toy collection on Tuesday, in support of children with autism. This marks the second phase of a social initiative that will enable the nationwide roll-out of the ‘bbMiradas’ project, promoted by Autismo España and developed by Autismo Burgos and the Miradas Foundation, for the early detection of warning signs in babies under 36 months at risk of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

The launch event, which took place online, was attended by the Chief Executive of Autismo España, Jesús García; the President of Autismo Burgos and the Fundación Miradas, Simona Palacios; the Vice-President of Juguetes Famosa, José Toledo; the Vice-President of the Carrefour Solidarity Foundation, Julien Veyrier; the Director of the Foundation, María Cid; as well as a large group of company representatives. Also in attendance were representatives from the Directorate-General for Disability Policies and the Royal Board on Disability, both under the Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare.
The “TEAtrapo” dolls thus take over from their predecessors, “L@s Nonit@s”, which were developed during the first phase of the project; and, like those, they can be purchased at various Carrefour stores for €3.50, with the proceeds going to Autismo España. The aim is to acquire the necessary technology to continue the nationwide roll-out of the “bbMiradas” programme.
