We’re kicking off the bbMiradas project at #APNABA!
This initiative by @autismoburgos and @fundacionmiradas, supported by @autismo_espana, is launching at our centre to provide care for babies in #Extremadura.
The aim of #bbMiradas is to identify at an early stage children who show warning signs in their social and communicative development, in order to facilitate their access to specialised early intervention.
To this end, the baby’s development is monitored through:
- Questionnaires and standardised tests.
- Observing the natural setting of #game
- Use of #EyeTracking, an innovative, non-invasive tool that records where the eyes fixate and how they move whilst viewing video footage.
If warning signs are detected, a diagnostic assessment is carried out and an intervention aimed at the family is initiated until the child gains access to specific agreed-upon services or reaches the age of 3.
